For the Love of God is a compilation album of "evangelical love songs," released by ECPOO Records in 2006. It was conceived as a conservative Christian response to mainstream popular music, decried in the evangelical community for promoting loose morals.

Track listing

For the Love of God includes the following songs, by various artists:

  • "I Wanna Abstain with You"
  • "Don't Touch Me There"
  • "Alone with God"
  • "Married in the Eyes of the Lord"
  • "Heart Open, Pants Closed"
  • "Sorry, That's For Jesus"
  • "Forever Blue"

Television commercial

Although it was featured in an article in Prayboy magazine, most people who have heard of For the Love of God know about it because of a television commercial which appeared frequently in certain cable markets in 2006. In the commercial, a young Christian couple is on a date, lamenting that "it seems every popular song on the radio is about sin...If only there were romantic music virtuous people could enjoy!" After listening to the songs on For the Love of God, though, the young man declares, "I feel like keeping my hands to myself." According to the ad, the album is "guaranteed to keep you out of the mood."
